Flight Centre pays penalty for alleged misleading advertisements

The ACCC has issued two infringement notices on Flight Centre Travel Group Ltd for alleged misleading advertisements promoting holiday vouchers over the Christmas and Easter periods. The penalties exceed $250,000.

The promotions offered vouchers redeemable on customers' next holidays. The ACCC claimed they were misleading because they failed to disclose certain conditions, such as requiring that the next holiday be worth more than $5,000.

In addition to paying the infringement notices, Flight Centre has waived the key conditions that concerned the ACCC.
